If you plan to visit Formentera in September, you will not regret it. Together with ibiza it represents one of the most sought after and appreciated seaside resorts of all time.
Ibiza is spectacular in September, but also Formentera is not far behind and, precisely for this reason, there are many tourists who every year are undecided about which of the two places to visit first.
Ibiza can definitely boast a heavenly sea that offers the right degree of relaxation, thanks to the delicious local tasty aperitifs that are served directly on the seashore, where romantic candlelight dinners are held in the evening.
Ibiza in September shows another kind of charm. Anyone who comes here will be struck by its beauty and will keep on returning over and over again to these wonderful beaches. Absolutely worth seeing are Cala Xarraca and Cala d'en Serra, the only two beaches which are not too crowded. As you can imagine, in Ibiza both restaurants and bars have good prices, but it is worth stopping to taste their local specialties.
In the evenings, if you love walking, don’t miss the Eivissa market stalls. In the many stands you can buy pendants and many tasty gifts that you can bring home as a souvenir of the special holiday. The Ibiza shops, due to the large turnout at night, remain open even after 23:00. One of the main attractions is the imposing and majestic medieval castle where numerous festivals are staged throughout the year.
To end the trip in beauty, don’t miss a walk to Santa Gertrudis, the small village famous all over the world for its solid houses made entirely of wood.
Obviously these are not the only attractions in Ibiza. There is also the famous walk through the colourful and varied stalls of the town of Ibiza, the scenic view of which you can enjoy from Pilar de la Mola, and many small coves.
A week-long vacation will never be long enough to visit the two islands in full, but it will surely offer you the chance to enjoy magical moments spent under the banner of fun and wellness. If you are planning to spend a few days in Formentera, you should visit the numerous exhibition banquets on the Es Pujol coast full of jewels entirely and exclusively made with marine shells.
Spend the nights in the typical houses of the place, so as to fully enjoy the experience and, in the morning, go to the Bigstore to enjoy a warm, energetic and excellent breakfast. If you love shopping go to the central square where, all around, a myriad of fashion boutiques are located. Also in the area, ChezzGerdi is the chiringuito that is right for you, in the event that, between one shop and another, you felt the sudden need to consume a drink or eat something.
For those who prefer shopping instead of a day on the beach spent in the name of fun and social life, absolutely unmissable is the aperitif that is organized every day at the Beach Club 10.7. The adjoining room is available to prepare rich lunches and appetizing dinners that are served to numerous customers. For those who do not mind sharing the beach with a large crowd of people, Cala Saona offers a spectacular sea.
More affordable and consequently also very crowded compared to the previous one is Calò D'es Morts, a rocky beach with crystal clear waters. Finally, the Cala di Illetes is also fascinating, but it is necessary to pay a somewhat high supplement to access it. But this should not discourage the many tourists who, in addition to enjoying the warm transparent waters, should also seize the opportunity to go swimming, up to Espalmador, a small island totally devoid of inhabitants in this nature reserve.
