The Movida of Formentera is able to offer amusements that go beyond the beautiful beaches and nature; The island, in fact, manifests all its splendor even when the sun sets. Spectacular sunsets and beautiful panoramas offer sensational moments of peace and strong emotions. The great advantage of Formentera is that you can quickly watch the sun set in many parts of the island. Because of the island´s predominant flat terrain, you can watch the sun setting down from almost every spot of the island. In Formentera, having an aperitif while watching the sunset is a must. This time of the day can be fashionable, mystical, musical or romantic. But where should you sit and enjoy it? As always, the most appropriate answer for the island is: wherever. There is no place in Formentera where you will not enjoy the amazing view. But if you still want to choose the place that best suits you, here is a list of places from which you can see the sun disappear in the sea:

Cala Saona

After 8 pm it is empty. You should get something to drink at the bar, and then sit on the rocks. And wait...

Es Molì de Sal

Suggestive and spectacular, trendy and lounge.

Sa Sequi

For a quiet beer, maybe in solitude.

Illetas

The background of Es Vedrà (the mysterious rock of Ibiza) fills the beautiful panorama, sometimes interrupted by too many boats. This is probably one of the most crowded spots, however having a swim in the sea while watching the sunset between the boats can be very rewarding. The typical places to have a mojito are the Beso Beach bar and the Bar Tiburon, both usually very crowded

Mirador de la Mola

On the way to La Mola you will find El Mirador restaurant. From this viewpoint you can appreciate how beautiful the island really is, and at the same time how small and fragile its ecosystem is. If you have enough time you might want to walk up the Sa Pujada path, one of the places you cannot miss.

Playa de Migjorn

Here you will find a historical chiringuito of the island, the Piratabus. Opened more than forty years ago by two German hippies, it's really cute and typical (you can find the bar inside an old bus!). In the beach tables from where you can admire the wonderful sunset of Formentera also sat Bob Dylan, the King Crimson and the Pink Floyd in order to enjoy a drink! You can clearly say that this is a special place in Formentera!

Cap de Barbaria

The most impressive spot to watch the sun go down, especially in the famous cave located only 50m away from the lighthouse. The Barbaria lighthouse is one of the three lighthouses on the island. You won't find any bars, but an incredible atmosphere. If you want to take great photos in a magical setting, this is the place for you. The cliff that overlooks the sea, by day is a place almost deserted where you can admire the view, while at the evening, during the sunset, it gets filled with sunsets "seekers".
